BETTER is a food truck that knows just how to treat a case of the munchies. Created by a couple of foodies with a passion for HEALTHY good food and serving it to good people, they’re giving all of Chincoteague, VA a reason to come together and enjoy a meal.
Because what brings people together more than food? Honestly, there is really nothing that we can think of. At BETTER, they’ve handcrafted a menu full of specialty eats on the streets, using locally sourced ingredients to add to that fresh flavor.
We're a family of foodies
While on vacation together in Las Vegas, Justin and I bought a food truck. Right after I took this picture of Chef Justin with his breakfast in Vegas, he received a phone call that we didn’t expect but that would change our lives for the Better.
We bought a food truck!
A deal had been struck and we were 1 step closer to fulfilling our dream: sharing our families happiness and memories through food and hospitality.
Ya See…Justin and I grew up in the same small town in south central PA. Each of our own families celebrated love through food for all kinds of milestones, holidays, and reunions.
Family time was always centered around gathering for meals and fellowship. Perhaps it is our longing for simpler times, but there is something to be said about all those meals we watched our grandparents make. Helping in the kitchen, making thing from scratch. Learning those family meals and creating memories to share with our own children.
Justin and I wanted to bring that to Chincoteague.
High quality food with a small town meaningful experience.
We were hoping to invite people to our family dinners.
Our first step was complete and we bought a food truck.
On April 3, 2019 we drove just off the island on a beautiful spring night and picked up our new adventure.
We didn’t have a name, a menu or any food yet, but we had a vision.
We wanted to make a difference on the island and bring an option of food that was Better.
Although hard to explain, we knew that a successful trailer for our vision was simply a chef’s kitchen. A place to create and safely feed those we wanted to share our food and hospitality with.

We weren’t shy on asking for help in exchange for food and laughs.
A chefs kitchen at last.
More and more improvements are made every day in an effort to keep getting Better, and Better
Meet The Chefs
Today, we continue to grow our family on the island, encouraging strong roots for a better food experience for all.
